Hey guys, I'm not sure if my fish are convicts, HRP or hyrbrids of the two. They have more blue on them of any convict i've seen. My male has blue on his tail. Could they be HRP. I'll have to get better pictures, these are a bit old. Hope you can help.

They look like cons to me. A lot of cons show blue coloration.

I would say 99% that the fish you posted is a Convict in which RazzleFish said it best they all have blue coloration to them but the HRP have a lot of Blue.. You have nice looking thick barring Con's though.. My HRP above was ready to spawn notice how egg bound she was.. Take care..

Okay thank you guys! I was doing some reaserch and they say depending on the location where the wild caught ancestors are from, they can have more or less blue coloration. But thank you guys! These guys are nice fish, very interactive. The batch of babies should be FS by tomorrow! :)

Thanks everyone. Is there any danger of the siblings inter breeding? I know it's no biggy with fish like guppies, but does it matter for these guys?

Looks like a Conto me. Many Cons will have very blue fins at an early age.

Body type is Con too. Cons tend to be shorter and taller where HRP are longer and more slender.

Female HRP usually dont have color on the belly like Cons.

Male HRP should have red doesal, caudal, and anal fins.

I believe that the Rio Danli collected fish are the only "true" HRP.
