I was wondering how long I could keep 2 blood red parrots in a 33long aquarium and if this tank is too small right now, what size tank will they need? The fish are about 4" long and are the only inhabitants in the tank, other than a clay pot and some black gravel. The measurements are 36" long-12" wide-18" deep. Any input would be greatly appreciated...:)
Thanks in advance...LeeAnn

That tank sounds more like a 30 standard. A 40 breeder might be a better bet. It has a footprint of 36x18. If they get to the full 8" they might need a 75.

I think a.55 gallon tank would be ok for just the 2 and no other inhabitants but if you ever wanted to add anything else a 75 gallon is a must.

Actually it's a 33.6 gallon tank according to the Aquarium Fish and Volume Calculator but it's a moot point anyway because it's waaay too small! :) Looks like I'll be tank shopping very soon lol. Thanks everyone!! :)
