Any ferts of any kind??

I'd definitely add some tall Vals in that tank - something that's going to reach the top + they're fast growers and will help out-compete algae for nutrients.;

I'd pack the corners with willow hygro, lots of it, and let that start to take over the sides, and then concentrate your smaller plants inside the perimeter of the hygro. This should start to fill the tank in rapidly, and then you can cultivate more of the smaller plants as they grow, pulling out hygros as you require more space. You're going to have an easier time if you start with a lot of fast growing larger plants.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I plan on going to my one of my favorite LFS this weekend so I'll have to look into vals, water sprite and hygros.

With filling in the tank with more plants should I change the water every week or do it every 2 weeks?

Also do you think my light fixture is at the right height?

Personally, I keep my peace of mind knowing that a weekly water change is going to be better for the fishes' health than biweekly. Without testing all the factors (TDS, etc.) you can never really know whether or not it is needed but I still follow the general rule that more clean water = healthier tank.

Also do you think my light fixture is at the right height?
