Symptoms: white protrusions from head, bloody looking gills
Noticed about three days ago
Not responding to ich or fungus treatment
Got one picture before camera battery died
Any thoughts on what it is and the treatment?

My internet keeps going out so sorry for the slapdash post.

Internet not allowing me to upload pic I will try again later.

Looks like Hexamita to me. Most commonoly known as Hole in head he can be internal and external. But the spots on his hhead look just like it. Try treating with Metronidazole.

It seems like some of mine had these same symptoms. Also very red at the base of the fin. I am trying to remember what I did - I know I did a large water change (40%) and I think I used Clout - which will also help with hexamita. Sorry my brain isn't working like it used to. The only meds I used on my angles were clout, metronidazole and levamisole - so that is why I am thinking it was Clout.

Hope that helps,

Okay thanks both. I will have to see if I can find any of that in one of local fish stores.
