I went to a LFS yesterday and got a milk size box or carbon and 4 4"x12" filter media bags. Took my wet/dry filter apart and put the carbon in the media bags over the bio balls and covered it with a filter pad. I figured that the water will be nice and clean when i wake up this morning. But nop still murkey and cloudy. DId i do something wrong ?

It isnt instantaneous. Give it a few days. If it was me, I would submurge it completely and place it near the pump. That way the water cantact is constant. It will be more effective than simply having the water drip onto it.

So it would be ok to put the carbon around the intake of the pump that way I have constant flow ?
