I've been busy at work the last couple of months and I will say I have put off changing water over a couple weeks..... Usually I do it every week. Things have slowed down now so I can change it again each week. I hate work sometimes.

Checked water and it looks good... I did buy these off of Aqubid and they were wild so I don't know how healthy they were. I had 7 and now 5 are gone so maybe I wont go that route. .....I don't know.

Looks like you have a lot of plants in there...even if water changes were slack, I can't imagine the water quality is that poor. Cories definitely thrive in sand versus gravel, but this is obviously something nasty. You notice the fins seem to be in fine shape. I don't think it's just finrot or related due to poor maintenance, I think it's some kind of pathogen. Not being a cory expert, I couldn't say - but it sounds like none of this batch has thrived with the ratio you describe

Mouth rot or mouth fungus is not a true fungus but rather a bacterial disease that can quickly kill fish. It is most often found in tanks that have a high bacterial load and need more frequent water changes and gravel vacs, overfeeding is often one of the culprits.

I don't vacuum the bottom because I have to many plants....... I kinda worried about this when I got the cats. I'm thinking this is the problem and I feed my pigs everyday maybe to much........ Live and learn.
