Right now my betta is in a Cube tank with an led, black sand. I really dont like the tank and thinking of upgrading to a bigger/better tank. I have three tanks in mind and would like ideas, feed back on them.

First tank:

I have my betta in the third tank. I like it well enough, but if you have the money to spend, the others are probably nicer.

Pros:
cheap all inclusive kit.
Filter has variable speeds so you can turn the flow down for the betta (they need calmer water).
Very aesthetically pleasing and fits well on a desk. There is a photo of my setup in the betta home thread. I really like the shape.
Made of acrylic: stronger and lighter than glass, no seals to worry about.

Cons:
top doesnt fit with the filter clipped on the back. I have to leave it lifted and skewed a bit.
Plastic on top clouds up, reducing light to the tank from the LED system
Filter can be kind of noisy sometimes and is HUGE for the tank. It takes up a lot more space than I would like, but is hidden very well behind my java fern.
Made of acrylic: scratches very easily and you need special pads to clean the sides so you dont ruin the acrylic.
Deadish spots for water circulation when filter is on its lowest setting.

My betta certainly seems happy enough in his tank. He patrols the whole thing frequently. All in all, you cant really get better for the price, but if I had 120 bucks to blow, I would go with the first or second one.

Update: I ended up buying the Marineland 5 gal. Its been set up for 2 weeks now and the plants are starting to grow. I have dwarf hair grass, Eel grass and tried some parrot feather but it seemd to fall apart. Not shure if the light is good enough for the plants and thinking of upgrading to a better light.

nice little tank! but wowza, does that internal filter ever take up a lot of space! have you considered a small hob on there instead?
