i just noticed my dwarf gourami kind of swimming sideways along the bottom of the aquarium, rubbing his sides on the substrate and his movements are very spastic now. he seems fine, nothing that i can see but i was just curious as to why he was doing this. he's just hanging out near the bottom now, just kinda suspended like this \ and is moving his fins a lot but isn't moving anywhere

It is called flashing and it is usually do to parasites. You can do a salt/heat method to build his slime coat up, that will help a little. I dont know much about parasite medications though.

He's the only one. His tankmates are a Gold Gourami, a Betta, 4 tetras, a cory, pleco, and a yellow lab. him and the Betta usually chase each other around but after i rearranged the decorations to include a floating hideout for the Betta they leave each other alone
