I've had this batch of guppy fry for 2 weeks already, all perfectly fine. Starting a few days ago, I noticed a couple of them had clamped tails (or pintails, not sure what it's called... basically, their tails end in a sharp point, pretty much no tails at all). The next day, a few died with the pintails.
The day after, I noticed four more had died with pintails. And more of the living fry developed the problem too. I did a 30% water change (I use RO water)... the day after that, ALL of the fry developed pintails, an increased number dying per day. Today, TWELVE fry died ......

Even if it's too late to save them, or too much of a hassle, I'm wondering where this problem comes from, is it contagious or something, and how to avoid it in the future?

And yes, my tank is cycled.... I've had it for over half a year.

sterilize your water(also use pre-boiled water for wc) + add methylene blue ~%50dose and metro or nitro

sounds like a bacterial infection
