    largemouth bass in aquariums?

    my friend has several of them he collected from a pond, is this legit? if i did this what species could i keep with the bass?

    Depends on the law of your state. In PA where I live as long as the fish is legally taken, ie by a licensed person in season in accordance with size limits you can do whatever you want with the fish. Not every state is even this reasonable. As far as tankmates try larger Sunfish, Channel Cats, just make sure they're way too big to be swallowed.
