That was my first thought too. Xenia, anthelia or star polyps. Tough to tell in that pic. If the polys retract into little tubes or bumps, they are star polyps.
SG = 1.024-6; Alkalinity 8.3-9.3 dKH; Calcium 420; Magnesium 1300; Temp = 76 to 80; pH = 7.9-8.3. Alkalinity and calcium are dependent on Mg.

Had to change my substrate over the weekend. My wife tells me she doesn't like the larger grain sand I had in the tank... It looks like kitty litter.... lol.. take it out or move the tank out of the livingroom... It was an okay substrate, but the finer sand looks a lot better. Took most of the afternoon to do this... lol. Everyone seems to be doing fine today. All corals look great and the fish too... tested the parameters and all are right on. Of course the rock work is not the same now... it looks ok I guess. Never happy with the rocks.

I'll bet that was a chore. How did you remove the old sand?

I took the water, rocks, livestock all out. I scoped the sand out. I then added the new sand, water, rocks and livestock back into the tank. I also added Dr. Tim's bacteria. The water barely was cloudy and was clear within an hour. Fish and coral are all doing great! The new sand looks great too!
