ones a rock dwelllng and other a shell dweller.... i would get atleast a 55... half rocks and half shells ( 4 fooot so 2 foot of space each ) 2 maybe 3 pairs each ( shell dweller and rock dweller ) but for one pair, 8 shells per pair so 24 to 30 shells for the 3 pairs of shell dwellers ( multis ) and tones of rocks for the julidocromis.......

At the moment it just a thought, or possibility of use of a tank right now. Its a 110g, and im playing with the idea of a fake 3d backround carved out to be multiple caves and the look of stacked rocks with a sand/crushed coral substrate and many, many shells. But again just a thought at the moment, im hoping someone may have a pic of their setup of the 2 fish

I had transcriptus with a multi colony in a 55g and it worked well...I wish I had pics when it was at its "peak" but then I got a bad outbreak of GDA and then broke it down when I moved to school.

With that size tank you should look into getting some Cyprichromis. ;)

This is my Tanganyika community setup, i think you will be fine with that size tank just place some rocks and shells and you will be fine..

Mine is a 120gal 5' footprint with sand gravel mix, creek rock and shells.. Species are Julidochromis Marlieri, Julidochromis Dickfieldi, Julidochromis Albino Ornatus, 10 Multi's, 12 Altolamprologus Compressiceps Orange Mwela, a pair of Brichardi's and 3 Paracyprichromis Nigripinnis, plenty of space and really no issues except the squabble every now and then..
