Two days ago I had 16 clutches of blue ramshorn eggs. Today, I'm down to 4. I thought maybe they were being eaten by a fish or one of the purple briggs snails, but I'm right now watching one of the blue ramshorn eat its own eggs and the baby snails that were almost ready to hatch inside. Is this a common thing? I was really hoping to breed a bunch of these for both friends and as puffer food. At this rate though, its unlikely I'll have very many...
I dont think its pure hunger. I've been overfeeding the tank to try to get them to have a population explosion (I've upped my wc to 3x a week because of it). They get sinking goldfish pellets, Captain Bob's fishtales sinking pellets, algae wafers, and blanched zucch. There is also a calcium supplement in the tanks.
Any input would be appreciated.
