I know it is a preference thing, but I have a 50gal, heavily planted, and I need to stock it. I am having a hard time choosing between some classic Cherry Reds or Yellow Shrimp.

Which one breeds easier?
Which one is hardier?
Which one would you recommend?

Thanks!

This is going to raise lots of confusion..

CRS are commonly considered Crystal red shrimp.
RCS are Red Cherry Shrimp
Although RCS and Yellow neocaridina are both neocaridina species, the reds seem to be a lot hardier, and easier to breed.
I have had hundreds (& Hundreds) of cherries, and in an identical tank, struggled to keep yellows alive.

If this is your first attempt at raising shrimp, I would recommend either Red Cherry, or blue pearl shrimp, and would also suggest staying away from the yellows for a while.
