Ok, so a while back I asked if I should get a laptop or desktop for my birthday. I have decided I want to build a desktop for myself after doing it for other people for 2 years. But my friend (not able to contact right now) was always the one who selected the parts. I just put the system together.
So here it goes
I chose to go with an amd apu for price to performance since I am not a HUGE gamer but I enjoy the casual game and hd video playback
amd FX-4100 apu

power supply. I realize that 550w may be a bit overkill, but I want to be able to upgrade to a nice gpu later on if I so desire.

corsair h60 just because. Not needed, but I have wanted one and could probably use it in future builds. (might go for the h80)

and of course a dvd burner. Just picked it because it was black. But since the rest of the case inside is silver, I might go for an lg model.

I would just use my current hdds (for a total of 400gb). Paying $75 for $500 gb doesnt make sense right now if I already have hdds. I have a 120gb ide I can throw in my current computer and hand down to my little bro.
I have a nice keyboard and mouse combo I like already. And I have dual 19in monitors that I like to use.
Since I broke $400 I might as well make the budget $450 and upgrade to the h80 so I can control the pump speed and that will in turn control the fan speed as well. So when it is just being used for internet browsing and stuff it should be fairly quiet.
