Golden killie- when I bought it it was only a baby so it grew and ate all my neon tetras.

I cant really say I have ever regretted buying a fish. I generally research my fish before buying. That being said, I have sold numerous fish and regretted it later.

Years ago I bought what was called an "Albino Chocolate Pleco" for a 40 g tank. Doh! I ended up buying and moving him to a 75 and then finally my 125 to support this over foot long monster of a pleco. He was like a bulldozer going through my tank, a giant poop machine, and I had to plan the decor and tankmates around him. He could topple rocks, driftwood and tankmates with a swish of his tail. I finally gave him to someone with a 350 who loves him and he is still living happily with them. I didn't research the plec at the time. Took the word of the LFS and dealt with him for 7 years. I adored him in one way, hated him in another but figured it was my mistake, not his, and took very good care of him. Since then NOTHING goes in my tank without me doing my own research and I've come to adore the smaller plecs all the more. Don't get me wrong, plecs are one of my all time favorite species of fish, but that lesson was taught to me by "Snickerdoodle, The Giant"

I've bought oto cats that I knew didnt look very healthy. Regretted buying them since each one broke my heart a few days later by not eating no matter what tasty delicacy I prepared and then finally dying on me. I now will not buy wild otos and am hoping to get some tank raised ones eventually.

An Albinio Oscar, Blind in one eye. I have to keep a whole tank seperate just for him alone since he is blind. Sometimes I wish I could use that tank for something else.
