I think two pair may be too much for that tank is size because of some aggression issues. One pair perhaps how tall is the tank? Angels need more vertical space than horizontal.

1 pair is about all you can place in the tank.

Agree...one pair max. But to be honest you would probable be better off with one centerpiece.

The one inch rule is useless I would go with about 6 more danios and 2 more ottos to fill out your school, and leave it there.

There are a ton of nice tetras out there. Black phantoms look really nice, some diamonds....lemons. You really can't use the i inch per rule for most fish. There are too many variables.

The easiest way to realize the foolishness of the inch rule is to consider a 3" Angelfish and a 3" Kuhlii Loach.

That's a fantastic comparison. I always use the "Imagine a 10 inch Oscar in a 10 gallon tank"

I think the behavior of the species is far more important than any inch/gallon rule.

I always thought it was SQUARE inch of fish per gallon. So if you have an oscar that's 10" long and 3" wide, you have about 30 inches of fish to consider.
