really sorry, I've got two of those guys and got them both at about 3 inches, and i've had them for a few months they're super sturdy for me, at the same time though they are prone to long naps wedged (sometimes upside down) in incredible nooks and crannies such as behind and under the heater, so the behavior doesn't sound out of the ballpark to me, maybe i should be more worried about mine
