Hi ! Well the addiction has grown. :D I am adding my second tank. I have a 29 gallon community tank and want to add a 20 gallon long cichild tank. I would like interesting fish in there and preferably something that would spawn. I was thinking a pair of Kribs.....does anyone have some suggestions or advice on this?

Also if I do Kribs, are there any other fish I could put in there as well? Like something that would hang out on the middle or top of the tank? And what could I put in for a cleaning crew??

Thanks so much for any help !

Oh, and I was thinking of using playsand as the substrate....any opinions on this?

Yes kribs will looove sand. Add a couple caves and lots of driftwood and plants, and they will be happy campers!

If you want them to breed and raise fry in that tank, i wouldnt reccommend adding more fish. The others will most likely pick off the babies.

Cory cats could be a good bottom cleaner, but i only have kribs and a snail in my krib thank and all i need is the usual siphoning, and all is well. Kribs are kind of bottom feeders themselves, they will pick at the sand for bits of food.

If you want some more fish i would do some tetras or something that school at the top, but they will most likely get some of the fry.

Take a look at my krib tank... http://www.angelfire.com/vamp/fishtanks/index.html

They are very happy in there... and all the wood creates black water which is in thier native habitat.
