can a siamese fighting fish be kept at 68 - 70 F?

i wouldnt recommend it but it could be short term why what's the issue cant you raise the room temp or can you get a heater?
To be healthy and happy, bettas need temps of 78-82. You'd be lucky if a betta kept at 68 ever moved, let alone survived for long. They will be much more active if kept in the correct temperatures.
thanks, i was considering getting some fire bellied newts for the community tank but now i know that's not an option. iv read they need 68 - 70 F. thanks for the help.
