I noticed a funny thing this afternoon while looking at my clowns today.

They were like rubbing their faces on the substrate.

Any ideas as to why they were doing that?

Sounds like they might be "flashing" — rubbing themselves against rocks, etc. Usually, fish flash when irritated by external parasites like ich or velvet. I'm not good at fish diagnosis, though, so others will need to jump in. Good luck to your clowns!

Pictures are always useful if you can get some good closeups of the affected fish. Or video if you can capture the odd behavior.
