Hey everyone! Recently I have had some trouble feeding my Jack Dempsey. I usually feed him Hikari Bio-gold medium sized pellets, but I recently switched over to Hikari Gold large pellets (I would have gotten large Bio-Gold, but I can't find any). My JD is 24cm long so I assumed the switch would have no problem. He attacks the pellets like he would any food, but he spits them out after chewing them a little. He hasn't eaten the pellets in a week, but I gave him a nightcrawler 2 days ago. Any ideas why he won't eat the pellets?

Maybe it is just the change. I have Africans of all sizes and I feed them all the medium size pellets. Even the little ones do fine on them. It hang half way out of their mouths, but they manage.

He might not like the change in taste? Dunno. Give him a little time. Have you tried presoaking them a little to soften them a tad first?
