cycled tank?

i had plants in for some of the cycle but took them out because i planed to once it was cycled and learned that would make it take much longer.

so anyway how long should it take a cycled tank to convert 3ppm of ammonia? im measuring 0 nitrite and 15ppm nitrate(tap water 0)

i put the ammonia in awhile ago and hasnt changed yet..

I don't know how long it would take to process 3ppm, but I consider a tank cycled if it can process 4-5 ppm in 24 hours (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites).

It depends on alot of things, like the temp of your tank, etc.

If you have no nitrites or nitrates, you still have a long ways to go.
