I'm wondering what the most extreme basic, as beginner proof as possible setup and/or critter would be? And then could it be in a 20 gal long?
I have very little to use, will not buy any fancy lights or filters for it;
20 gallon long tank
2x AquaClear 50 filters

20l you could do a pair of clownfish, clown goby, yellow watchman goby, and some inverts. If your not planning to buy rock then skip the goby's. If you like invert's a mantis shrimp tank would be another option. Fancy lighting only really comes into play for corals and anemones.
