I currently have a 90 gallon a texas that is the biggest pig ever. I bought him 4 months after my other fish. He was a third of the size of my other fish and is now the biggest of all my cichlids, about 4 inches. I regularly feed blood worms to the point that I have a hard time getting my fish to eat pellets. I am now looking at a cheap alternative. I was thinking beef heart but was wondering how messy it will be.

Current inhabitants:

12" regular pleco that I rescued from friend,
4 inch Texas
2.5 inch Chocolate
2.5 inch Buffalo Head
3 inch Gold Severum
3 inch "other". Sorry I can't remember the type. I'll get some pics and start another ID thread.

starve your fish for a few days, then they'll eat pellets.
This works, you can also soak your pellets in a small cup of warm (not hot) water. This is what I do as it makes it easier to digest.

another trick to make pellets more enticing is to soak them in garlic juice. garlic is also good for fish - helps with making an inhospitable environment in the gut for parasites.
