I have a 30 gallon tank with 8 H. Rasboras, 4 X-Ray Tetra's, 2 Otto's and 4 Cory's. This tank has been up and running for 5 years with no outbreaks of any disease. I make regular water changes and maintain the filter and keep the tank at 76F.
I made the mistake of adding a small angel fish without quarentining him because I shut my 10 gallon tank down a couple of years ago. He developed a white fungus on his upper dorsal fin, would not eat durning the 4 days I had him and he developed a head twitch on the last day. I disposed of him rather than wanting to treat the whole tank.
The question is, how likely is it that the angel's problem will infect my other very healthy fish? Is preventative treatment warrented and would there be any nasty side effects from any treatment?
Thanks,
Bill
