    Exclamation mudpuppy help!

my mudpuppy which i've had for a year and a half now has been doing fine, but today while i was away he jumped out of his tank!!! when i was cleaning my room, i dont know how long he'd been out of the water by the time i found him but his skin was starting to dry out and become sticky-ish so as soon as i saw him i put him back in the tank. as of now he's moving actively around the tank with his gills way "flared" out and he's fluttering them too. what should I do?
    woah.

There really isn't much you can do but make sure the water is oxygenated well and that nothing further stresses him while he recovers. Hopefully there was no permanent damage.

Living in a fishtank is like living in a sealed outhouse with someone who smokes. Water changes are like a breath of fresh air. Do a water change whether you think it needs it or not.

Just make sure his water is clean. I had one that was out of the tank all night and I didn't know it. Luckily they can get oxygen out of the air. You might want to add a product to help his slime coat but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much.

Yeah, as of right now he seems to be doing better. He had a little air bubble in his body that was kinda making him float a little for a few days after the incident but I guess he's doing a little better.
    woah.

Here's the setup WAIT OMG WHERE IS HE OH NO!!! D:

Just kidding, he's hiding in the cave thing. I bought it a few days ago. What else do mudpuppies eat besides worms? I fed him a mosquitofish a long time ago but other than that he won't eat shrimp or live fish and he'll only eat nightcrawlers and red wigglers. What else could I feed him that's safe?
