If you look around, you can find other dechlorinators that are just as concentrated as Prime, but cheaper because they don't neutralize ammonia or have anything to affect the slime coat. I got a large bottle of either API or Top Fin for almost half as much as the same size bottle of Prime and it's at the same concentration level, 1ml per 10 gallons.
“When I can no more stir my soul to move, and life is but the ashes of a fire;
when I can but remember that my heart once used to live and love, long and aspire-
O, be thou then the first, the one thou art; be thou the calling, before all answering love,
and in me wake hope, fear, boundless desire.”

It really depends...I have bottles and bottles of Aqua+ simply because I got them for $1 each during a going out.of business sale. All dechlors work generally the same way, and what you buy is really up to you. Prime is great and all, but good Lord does it smell absolutely awful.

I use API and it is 1ml per 20g to remove chlorine and detoxify heavy metals. It is 1ml per 5g to detoxify chloramines. IDK what my water treatment place uses, but I normally dose so much on accident because it is so hard to measure out 1ml. I think it was like $12 and says it treats 9,460 gallons (probably dosing for chlorine not chloramine)
Anyway, it is what the petstore had, I found out my lfs has prime, but I still have the api stuff. I kind of add as I am filling the tank, but around a 2-3x dosage. It would be cool if there was a device that added water conditioner to the water as it was filling, but that would only jack up the price more and be one more thing to worry about filling. I havent decided the best way to do it, if I want to dose before filling or while filling. (of course with a little before)

Was ordering food anyway,tried to get my fish club to make a order with me because he offers free shipping to verified fish clubs, but any order over 150 is free on most dry goods, and a flat rate on all frozen foods.
