tank should be ready in a few weeks, so i'm deciding on proposed line-up:

Yellow labs
Acei, maybe the white-tailed ones too (Ngara?)
Cynotilapia Afra (Cobue)
Rustys

any other "less aggressive" tankmates I'm overlooking? wanna keep it mellow. not looking for auratus-type hellraisers.

Fuellerborni, Maingano (Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos) and a few synodontis should work..

I second the fuelleborni. I love mine, they are the smartest african cichlids that I have come across as of yet

Great list of 6 different species for a very nice mbuna tank with many rocks!

stocking is well underway. so far i have 5 acei, 5 fuelleborni, 5 cyno afra -'jalo reef', & 5 yellow labs.

final addition to be probably 5 socolofi. tempted to add some red zebras for color, put don't trust their aggression with these others.

Well, you have a big tank that should reduce aggression issues; but you are right, red zebras are more aggressive than the others. Also, there is the possibility of male zebras fighting for female labs because they can crossbreed easily.
