At what age to these rams reach maturity and begin mating rituals? I have a pair that have begun chasing each other around a community tank. I was wondering if this could be mating behaviour but they seem a bit small to have reached maturity.

Googled it:

German blue rams can reach sexual maturity at a fairly young age; sometimes the fish is no older than 4-6 months.
