I agree with vanillarum. They are both really old and fat Panaque maccus (L104). Commonly called clown plecos. The stripes they have when young often break up into spots as they age and the pattern is very variable.
Thanks for the replies! Yes they are fat! I definitely think the second one is a clown. Not sure about the top one. It is wayyyy smaller. Maybe 2 1/2" MAX. Never had stripes. It's belly is dark also. It also doesn't have near the finnage of the other.
This is what happens when you buy these years and years ago and forget what kind they are!
I do remember buying one marked as a "pit bull pleco" and I think this might be it. But most of the images I see are light colored, which it was when I bought it. But I wonder if they are light colored then get darker with age. This guy has a picture that looks like it. (It's not really marked, it's the first pleco after the cory cats http://www.bharada.com/aquaria_fauna.html but it came up on google search from pit bull pleco)
I have a pair of PitBulls and they look nothing like that (well, aside from being Plecos, lol). Pitbulls have a much sleeker head shape, mostly shades of grey, not much actual coloration.
