ok i,m new to this and have heard several people say that if you have a water filter you don,t need a air pump is this true if so why also what is the best heater i can get for my several tanks i have
10,15,20,25,33,70

you dont need an air pump.

as for heaters, I prefer tronics, but ebo's are good also. Get heaters that are around 3-5 watts per gallon.

So a 50 watt heater for a 10 gallon tank

An air pump isn't necessary if you have a normal fish load or if you have live plants. If you overstock your tank or don't have much surface action then one may be a good idea. I personally like them just for the looks of fish swimming through the bubbles, but that's just me.

For the smaller tanks (10 - 33) I would get 1 heater each @ 5W/G and for the 70 I would get 2 150Ws instead of 1 250W.

I use Ebo-Jagers and I've heard good things about Tronics.
