The step son and I took a road trip this afternoon to find some new additions to our 56g tank. We were looking for some mid to top dwelling fish, our search for the perfect mid to top level fish fell inconclusive, we just couldn't find the right fish or school at any of our stops.

Our last stop however did yield a pair of fish that my stepson had been researching online, he was shocked that we had stumbled across them in our travels. Turns out that this pair would fit comfortably in our tank. So i pulled the trigger and bought a nice pair of Kribs.

here are some pics of the pair and the rest of the tank mates.

(the litter on the bottom is black beard algae that is dying off from the drift wood)

You got a female krib and the other one looks like an apistogramma agassizi. That fish isn't African. They're from the amazon. This is what a male krib looks like. I know it's an albino but you get the idea.

Beautiful tank!

Your krib is a female, the other one is definitely not a krib. Looks like an apisto to me as well. With both different cichlids in that tank and the cories I would be wary of adding a male anyways. They can get aggressive when breeding and you already have quite a few bottom dwellers with a column tank that has a smaller footprint. Get more cories instead! They like groups of 6+

A little clarification, there are 2 pairs of apistogramas in the tank, they are not agassizi. the last picture in the group was the male krib.

Thanks for the compliment, and yes that was the last addition of bottom dwellers besides getting 3 more panda cories. Now we can focus on the upper water colum.

Any Ideas on mid to top water dwelers?

Females also have the purple spot on their belly and aren't as long as the males. Nice apisto.
