Hola People!
So, I have a 6.6 gallon petco bookshelf aquarium with a betta in it. I also have a 15watt hydor heater in it, one of those flat ones.
I was wondering if I could put the heater in my filter box without melting anything?
If it is left on when it is taken out of the aquarium (it's rubber, not glass and is safe to run dry...so says the packaging) it is hot to the touch but not scalding.
I can't seem to keep it down under the gravel anymore. If I puch the pad part down, the cord pops up. If I push the cord down, the pad pops up. It's irritating to have to fix every time I do a gravel vac.
I read online, on a few of these threads too, that some people do this with regular heaters. So, what do you all think? Safe, or not.
