Thank you. I'm in the middle of transferring the cardinal tetras over. They're in a bucket now.

    Day 7: Fish Transfers

    Day 7: (September 17, 2012) Fish Transfer

Transferred my cardinal tetras over to the 40g this morning. Unfortunately three out of the 10 I bought yesterday died today. They are just so **** frail. I'm at a dozen total Cardinals though which is what I planned on, so it makes my stocking plan easier.

12 hours later I transferred over my six Julii Corys, German Blue Ram, and a Rummy Nose Tetra. Did it at nights with the moonlights, so the fish wouldn't be too stressed. Corys are awesome by the way. Very hardy; they were very active after putting them in their new home. Forced the Praecox Rainbows out of their hiding places.

I think I'm going to scratch the school of Rummy nose Tetras. I only have one, but I only got him by mistake. I bought some danios three years ago and they included a Rummy Nose Tetra by mistake. Little guy outlived all the Danios. Don't want to get more Rummys and then be unable to tell which one he is. He's my bro.

I also placed my Aqueon filter from the 20g tank onto the 40g tank to help the AquaClear 70 handle the bioload while it's still finishing cycling. Have to keep testing the water daily of course.

    Current Stock:
    - German Blue Ram
    - 12 Cardinal Tetras
    - 4 Praecox Rainbows
    - 6 Julii Corys

The plan is to add 1 or 2 more Rainbows when I can find some and an Angelfish once I'm sure the tank is fully cycled. Still want a Pleco, but I also want to wait a little longer since I've had a hard time keeping Plecos before.

Day 8: Getting rid of the old tank

Day 8: (September 18, 2012) Water Tests and Storage

Started working on my DIY CO2 reactor last night. I went to the LFS today looking for a limestone diffuser, but they actually had a nice mini diffuser, so I purchased that instead.

Too lazy to drill, so I just used different screwdrivers working my way up.

Pulling the tubing through the hole. I also sealed it with silicone, but didn't take a photo.

Drained the old 20g and brought it down to the basement.

I did come up with some ammonia in my testing today. Ammonia: .50 ppm, NitrIte: 0 ppm, and NitrAtes: 10ppm. Did a big water change to get it down. Hopefully the bacteria can start catching up soon.

    Day 10

Whoops, looks like I haven't done any updates in over 10 days. I have been taking pictures, so here it goes.

    Day 10: (September 20, 2012).

I believe this is day when my tank finally fully cycled. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5. My PH also settled to about 6.4 with a combination of driftwood and a single coral rock.

Pictures are weird, because I kept getting an error when submitting.
