Bumblebees are quite aggressive, and nimbochrimis venustus get large(12 inches or so) and when they mature, they can be pretty nasty too.

Get Tropheus. Very cool and a colony would look great in a 55 and would breed for you. Sell the babies at $5 each

Venustus get large, up to 12", but generally average around 9" IME. A 55 is too small for a group of venustus alone, let alone a group with other fish. Also, venustus can get bullied by mbuna in a too small tank. I won't mix 'em with mbuna in smaller tanks, basically anything less than a 90. Bumblebee's have a rap for bein' hyperaggressive, but I've never seen it in my tanks. I've always kept 'em with red zebras, cobalts, ice blues, etc. with no problems. I wouldn't hesitate to add blue johannis to the mix.
