i have a friend shutting down their tank. so i went over tonight to get their cobra guppy. i saw a juli cory all by itself so i said i'd take it. but it's whiskers are all gone from being on gravel. he/she seems very healthy and active otherwise. is there a chance he will grow them back and be ok?

The whiskers should grow back fine once the Cory is moved to 'clean' water and a suitable substrate such as a smooth/fine gravel or sand.

I agree, as long as the barbel bases haven't been too damaged. Is there any redness on stubs or face? That can be a sign of bacterial infection & probably will need antibiotic treatment.

Good rescue! Good luck
