1/2 beaks, not the Celebes species, as they get larger. Yes, they are livebearers, but not very easy to breed, and not very prolific. Here are some of mine. Had some for 5 years and they have never bred. Good luck.

Hey guys thanks for all the suggestions. I love half beaks but I plan on keeping some fry in this thank as well. I don't wan to loose them.

In the end I think I'm going with threadfin rainbows. They seem cool and have very small mouths. That and I always thought they were gorgeous.

Hey I was curious, how do you feed it? Do you use fruit flies or does it accept prepared foods? My assumption was that they always need live foods and I never kept halfbeaks because I was scared that I couldn't provide for it. Like my scarlet badis. The first time around they all died out because I just never had enough live foods to keep it healthy.

I have heard that 1/2beaks are hard to feed on a coupla different occasions, but I have never had any issue feeding them. Mine take froz bloodworms, froz brine shrimp, Kens golden pearls, NLS There + for small fish, and also freeze dried baby shrimp. Good luck.
