Question What is this plant !? Look at Pic.

I found this in a stream rooted in the sand and decaying foliage. It grows horizontally in a radial fashion.
It has "branches" with 7 leaflets. 6 of the leaflets are opposite to slightly alternate with one leaflet at the end.
It was found submerged, however there where a few others just out of the water (but most were submerged).

I live in up state New York.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue. Robert Anson Heinlein
