So how else do I decorate this tank?

My 55g tank is now done and ready for fish to move in. Unfortunately the LFS has no blind cave tetras in stock at the moment.

Long story short I was working on building a planted tank in my 75g and the light I ordered was defective. Only the blue actinic and the nightlight parts actually worked. So I complained and the vendor shipped me a brand new light (which does work) and told me to just keep the broken one. So, since I had a fixture where only the actinic worked I decided to set up a species tank in my 55g for cave tetras and came up with this.

Not sure if I can embed the image without blowing the screen away.

It looks very sparse at the top and sides though and I'm not sure how to fill out that space. Plants seem inappropriate for a cave biome though if I put them in I'd probably use the neon colored ones as they'd look better I think. Any other ideas on how to decorate the tank?

I'm planning on putting in albino cories and blind cave tetras.

I would put in more, and all different sized rock, and stack it into ragged jumbled piles, with some hidey holes. To really complete the cave look you could get one of those foam rock wall 3D backgrounds.

How about some stacked rock slabs with lots of shelves and overhangs. You can go high=medium-low to give the tank some interesting dimension. I stopped in a landscape yard that gave me free some light colored slabs of stone that I used a chisel and hammer on to break them where I wanted. Infinite ways to stack them.

Edit...after I broke them into different sizes, I used a file to smooth the sharp edges of the broken stone.

I should add that I don't entirely trust the foundation of the house right where this tank is. I'd have to crawl underneath the house, but I may be sitting between two cross beams here so I'm reluctant to put a crap ton of rock into the tank. I have a faux rock background in my planted tank that looks amazing. I like the dark look that I get with just a black background.

Does a cave have tons of rock piled up like that?

Two big rock piles, one on each side. Then put some smaller rocks in between the stacks and in front.
