So on Sunday I noticed some spots on my porcupine puffer's fins. After some
research, I found that the puffers are really prone to ich. In my tank (75
Gallon Fowler), I have a dwarf golden eel, the Porcupinefish, a coral beauty,
Dwarf Lion, Tomato clown, Yellow Tang, and a Diamond Goby. I also have some
snails and hermits as cleaners.
I'm not sure, I may have seen some white
grains on the Coral Beauty also, but it could have been sand. Either way, the
method of treatment I chose is to slowly raise the temp to 82 (I have it at 79),
use garlic on the food, and use Kick-ich for probably twice the recommended time
(from what I have read).
Can any of this be harmful? Will it work? The
outbreak is minor at this point but I don't want to wait until it is really bad.
