I have a 29-gallon planted tank with a few fish in it right now that I am getting tired of. I also have a 55-gallon planted tank that is taking up most of my time. I was thinking of converting the 29-gallon tank to a Malawi cichlid tank and was looking for advice. Can someone recommend a web site or books covering this endeavor?
Will I have to replace my laterite/gravel with crushed coral?
Should I use an under gravel filter?
Can I put some plants in?
How many fish will I be able to put into a 29-gallon tank? I know quite a bit about freshwater fish and growing aquarium plants, but very little about cichlids. As always, any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.
