Ordered 8 on aquabid, ended up with 12 :) Great seller. Recieved them on friday, and since then they've acclimated well and look a little bigger. The tank is 60" x 18" x 18" so im hoping it can in the long run hold at least a group of 8.

ugly horrid little buggers that need to be flushed down the toilet to never be seen again. <--- That is something I would never say about these little guys. LOL they look cute. Can't wait to see how yours look when they start to color up. Any chance of getting a picture of the entire tank setup?

@lesleyx - Thanks! I wish I could find fish like this at my LFS! I searched pretty far with no luck.

@GEV83 - My tank is pretty barebones right now. Havnt really decided how I want it to be set up in the long run. Next time I snap some pics Ill make sure to take a FTS for you.

They came out of their shell quick and pace the glass when Im around. I feed twice a day sinking pellets.

Excellent fish. You shouldn't have any trouble keeping all 12 in there even when they are full grown. I am down to my last 12 juvies from my last spawn before I sold the breeders. One of my favorite fish.

I'm acquainted with someone who has colllected them in the wild, and he says they're the easiest Cichlid to catch in a cast net he's ever seen. Even larger adults swim in large schools, and they have a tendency to return almost immediately to the spot the net was just cast. Makes me think they really like being in groups.

From what Ive gathered they prefer to be in large groups, leaving the group only to spawn and rear young. So far from what ive seen Id say this is true. They stay in a swarm. In terms of ease so far theyve been a cakewalk. Eating most anything offered to them with a huge appetite. Im going to be moving in the next month, we'll see how well they respond to that.

I just ordered mine!! They come tomorrow! I have had 2 different groups.....and LOVE them. They are so cute.....I lost my first group in the feakish fall Snow storm we had a couple years back...lost power for 10 days. The second group died when I had a filter malfunction. Every other fish in the tank was fine...but every single geo died. So, I think they must be very sensitive to oxygen levels.

Anyway...I can't wait. Some of my favorite fish!
