About 5 mins from my house there is a pond, were beavers frogs and the ocasional duck lives. Also there are manny pond lilies, though im not sure what type they are. I was wondering if I could take 1 or 2 home for my 50 gallon goldfish tank?
Would they survive in tap fish water?

since you are getting them for free i dont see why you shouldnt try.

Just make sure you rinse them really well before you put them in your tank.

The ones in the pond arnt super large id say more medium size, ill try to eventaly get a pic and upload it.
I might take a small one back and see how it does in bowl temporarily
