If you put your bubble diffuser under a filter intake (emperor 400) will it help diffuse the c02 into your tank?

Talking about pressurized c02:)

Thanks

I'm not sure how efficient using a HOB filter with a biowheel will be to dissolve CO2 into water.

Personally I'd switch filters to a canister, or at least to a HOB filter without a biowheel.

But give it a try, I might be being overly dramatic or something.

I already have a fluval canister filter, i tried putting a power head above the diffuser and i don't like it, buubles are too much it looks like a soda sprite exploded inside my tank.:)

perhaps look into a diy inline co2 reactor from PVC and bioballs?

You can get a diffuser for a reasonable price that goes in the return line of an external. It diffuses the co2 through a ceramic tube into the water flow. I used to use one when I had a planted tank. Worked very well

is it easier if i just put the bubble diffuser under my fluval 405 intake? will it diffuse c02? if i put the diffuser under a canister intake will the output nozzle produce bubbles?
I know you can with some but not all canisters, I'm not sure about the fluvals unfortunately.

I think the issue is that depending on design, the CO2 can accumulate around the impeller, and in some cases if there is nowhere for it to escape, it will stop water being pumped around.

but, in the spirit of nothing ventured - nothing gained, why not just give it a try... Just be sure to keep an eye on the filter and make sure it's actually moving water.

Issue: If the penguin filter is on the tank you're injecting with CO2, you're going to waste a lot of CO2 by letting it offgas via the biowheel.
