Hi guys!

I ve decided to make my own root tabs, i bought an osmocote flower & vegetable http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/1005548...1#.UnwOvfkQbuM
and a dynamite indoor/outdoor plant food
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Dynamite-...4#.UnwO-fkQbuM

I plan on mixing them together, i know the osmocote is safe to use in an aquarium, not sure about the dynamite. I bought the dynamite because it has MAcro & micro nutrients... question: has anyone here use the dynamite brand?

I cant speak for the Dynamite product but it is slow release so I would suspect it would be safe. I use just the Osmocote, packed into gel caps. It seems to be as effective as those much, much more expensive tabs designed for aquarium use.

Yeah, that's what I was going to suggest. Capsules! Wanna sell me some of those? Root tabs are way to expensive...

i used clay and egg crate, get your clay soupy with water, then add of the E, pour it into egg crate that is taped down to plastic or what ever, when it drys you will have nice half in by half inch cubes of root tabs

These should work similar to osmocote, just don't go crazy with it because you could get an ammonia spike from the N portion of the fert.

thats what i was thinking. go easy on it just in case. might even want to try some out in a make shift tank and see what happens.
