So the time has come, my 10 gallon planted tank has effectively out grown the confines of the four glass wall of which it was made. Jungle val. has taken over almost a third of the tank, my red wendtii another third, and a few random plants in the remaining third.
This not a current photo, but a decent representation of the tank none the less.
I have a 30 gallon that is not a planted tank. It is a community style tank that I converted over to sand when I start the 10 gallon. I have added soft ball size lava rock to it and a nice piece of driftwood that was intended for my 75 gallon...it looks nice and the fish seem to really like the cover both provide. Well the time has come for the 10 gallon to move on to its next phase of its life cycle as a bare bottom aquaponics tank. So rather than throw out the plants I am going to switch lighting and remove the massive driftwood for room for the plants. Also my Co2 setup and eheim canister will be moved to the 30 gallon as well. I still need to make a spray bar for my fluval 306... I do weekly W/C's so with the addition of the added filtering, my 30 will be fine to handle 6 more fish.
The current look.
I currently run 2 clip on aluminum heat lamp style lights on the 10 gal. with 6500k daylight min CFL's, so for the 30 gallon I picked up a third one and bought new bulbs since the other ones are easily 6 months old by now. My biggest challenge I can for see is transferring the sand from the 10 to the 30. I am under taking this project tomorrow so wish me luck.
