Hi all, im new to AC but been a member of MFK for a while now, but seen as i've been getting more into planted tanks i thought i would start a thread here...

So here are 2 basic shots of my planted tanks...

First off my newly re-decorated 60G community tank (which i dubbed "the hobbit hole")

Hey homer! Welcome to ac. I'm on mfk too but under my real name Curtis Rouse. I've always been a huge fan of your tanks. They are beautiful and this one is no exception.

^ thanks guys, and hey Curtis, i remember seeing you around MFK :)

Here is a run down of the tanks as far as i remember :p

60G "Hobbit Hole"

Lighting 2x T8's (6700K and 8000K)
Pressurized Co2
ADA Amazonia II soil
Ferts i randomly add in roughly twice a week...

I have no idea of plant names in english, so the ones i can name include 2 types of anubias and hairgrass, the rest i go by Chinese names, due to demographic of where i live...

Residents include;

Betta Channoides (male + female)

Fundulopanchax Gardenri (male + female)

Aphyosemion Australe (male + female)

Nannostomus Mortenthaleri (group of 7, just waiting to see if their colors develop)

Protomyzon pachychilus (i think i got 8 of them)

Danio margaritatus (i think i have 5/6 of them)

And another species of fish that i have 4 of, but the common name eludes me atm...

Last but not least, a bunch of low quality CRS shrimp

As for the 50G CRS tank

4X T5 HO lighting
ADA Soil Amazonia II
Pressurized Co2
Ferts: i dose ADA green brighty step 3 every other day approx 20ml

Plants are two types of swords if i remember correctly and hair grass, and the carpet is HC...

Shrimps i've got a colony of about 50-60 S grade and up CRS...

^ Believe it or not, my CRS was my 2nd serious attempt at setting up a planted tank, and first time going high tech... So never say never... Just gotta research...

I also forgot to mention though, on my CRS tank im also running a 1/8 HP chiller for both the shrimp and the HC carpet and temps stay at between 23'C - 25'C max

The 60G was my initial experimental tank and has probably had parts changed and modified 2 maybe 3 times in the last 1.5 years...
