What is the best filter for the price in a 10 gallon tank? I have it down to these 3. The Aqueon is the cheapest but the Marina seems to have the best reviews. What do you guys think?

honestly out of your choices i would still look to get a aquaclear 50, you have the most room for floss and your choice of carbon, ceramic rocks, or just straight floss, they are great filters, much better than tetras, aqueons, and most anything else besides a canister.

I have an aquaclear in my 55g and like it. But I feel even a aquaclear 20 could be too strong in a 10g. This is for a betta tank and they don't like strong currents.

Back when I had small tanks I liked both the AC filters and the Penguin Bio-Wheel filters. Since no one has mentioned it, the Bio-Wheel 100 would be good too. (Advantage: Really good bio filtration from the wheel. Disadvantage: You have to use the Marineland/Penguin custom filter media.)

I run the AC20 on a 10 with guppies.. not an issue.
this is especially true if you have any plants, driftwood or other decor in the tank.

AC is my go to of the HOB filters.. I just recently purchased a whisper model 30 for a 20 long and the dang thing will just stop on it's own and is a PIA to get started back up.. I added a AC on the tank as a back up and will contact either tetra or Dr Fosters to figure out what is going on with the whisper.
so personally I would steer away from the whisper..

I also run the aqueon 20 on another 20 long with no issues ....

FYI I run 2 filters rated for 20g tanks on each 20 long

I run filters rated for 10 on my 5 gal shrimp tank.

Bettas natural habitat is in streams with flowing water. Currents shouldnt be an issue as long as its not excessive. As stated most HOBs have ways to slow down the flow beyond the stock ways. You could use a AC20 with a baffle to reduce the output but still get the same amount of filter power. Google/Youtube "Betta baffles" and you should get some good advise and ways to make a DIY baffle.

Keep their newly acquired tails in mind. Most aren't very agile swimmers

i was unaware you have a betta, i would still go with the AC, they come with a flow control, when i wanted the flow even lower, i would hang a fake plant at the out take to slow down the flow
