My 36 gallon is starting to look empty. (dying for some reason)
I've always wanted a Leopard Ctenpoma.
My fish are:
1 glass catfish (others died)
1 albino cory
1 comet goldfish
1 chinese algae eater
1 upside down catfish

Tank dimensions: 30 inches x 13 inches x 21 inches

Once I can fix whatever's going on in my tank can a leopard ctenopma live in their?

Answering your question isn't easy. First, let's go over your stock list. Glass catfish, Corydoras catfish, and Upside down catfish all prefer to be kept in groups so I would choose a group of one of the catfish species listed. Second, goldfish aren't tropical so to mix it with tropical species isn't providing the best care. I would suggest rehoming it. A solo Chinese algae eater is fine.
Now, providing your water chemistry is comparable to what a Leopard Ctenopoma needs, try it. Careful planning is needed due to fact that these fish are predatory and grow up to 8". Bottom dwellers should be fine as tank mates.
Do you have a test kit?

I agree with all that Jason mentioned, except that I would remove the Chinese Algae Eater. This fish frequently becomes quite nasty when it matures, and it won't eat algae then anyway.

I assume you know about the Ctenpoma's specific requirements, and that it is a predator. As Jason said, bottom fish are fine.

Byron.

The leopard ctenopoma does get to 8" but is a slow grower and as it ages it may lose alot of its markings and coloring and turn brownish. It has a large mouth and is a very successful predator so any small fish will become food. Bottom dewllers with a ctenopoma will be a very good choice for tank mates

Sorry I just remembered I also have 2 turquoise rainbow fish. My Chinese algae eater is mature and I've never see him be aggressive at all. I don't know if I can get more upside Down catfish because they are very expensive at the fish store. Unfortunately my glass catfish is blind so I don't know how much longer he will last. I could probably get more cories.

I wouldn't...the goldfish especially has different requirements for water and tankmates. The ctenopoma will get very large, too, but in time. It may out-eat and bother your cory, of which you should definitely have more. Just my $0.02.
